7th month

This sucks.

The Chinese 7th month is starting tomorrow. In fact, now since its 12.02am. ZZZ. Everywhere in Singapore smells of burnt paper.

I am kind of in a awkward position - well not exactly. I'm staying with an old lady who prays to kwan yin and she likes to burn those paper, and fold them like ancient gold logs. Which I don't know what religion it is. Now comes the point: I don't want to argue with her to not burn any paper since according to her, its impt. But my boyfriend has asthma and he suffers whenever people burn those paper.

So one day, I decided to be cheeky and asked the old lady sth....
ME: cheh cheh, why do you need to fold these things
SHE: to burn it
ME: what for? what do ghost or god do with it?? as in... they like the ash more than paper?? or they just eat all of it.

.... and she ignored me for a day after that. damn. think i offended her.

but seriously. what do they do with the burnt paper?! hate the smell.

D: hopefully I didn't offend some ghost/god/both.

Met one of my best friends from Secondary school to celebrate her birthday today. Had everything with fries. and awfully chocolate. yums.

bye

life is a. .blah

I am taking a break from my usual lifestyle recently. Was really working from 9am - 10pm daily before this. It was so tiring! I just want to strangle everybodyyyyyyyyy.

I'm stressed up pretty easily I guess, and I don't 100% give myself breaks. When I say breaks, I usually still work - so that kind of suck.

Did some interesting stuffs recently:
1. Tried to match-make my male&female friend --- which was not a success. It got a bit weird and. sad. and I feel kind of bad for it. too bad.
2. Met up with my long lost friends --- most of my friends went on exchanges this year. All have returned. Really glad they're all safe and happy about the trip. Apart from one who got 'deported' back to SG. LOL! Its one of my best friends but I can't help to laugh about it. What a jackass. Well she obviously is still a happy girl though.
3. Met up with not so long lost friends --- I have not had a girls' night out for a really long time. Had it earlier, and I have to say its great. No one talks shit more than a bunch of girls. well. a guy friend of mine joined but it was still fun. though I could sense him feeling really really bored. :x
4. Finished almost all my chores in 1 day --- I can tututu like crazy sometimes because I am lazy. or whatever lame reasons. But today, I met a client, I delivered goods, I issued 3 invoices and collected cheques, went out with 2 separate groups of friends and remembered to shit.
5. Spent a lot of money. Shoes for bf, wallet for dad, myself, makeup, clothes --- this is bad.

Ok bye.

Review: Makeup Forever HD foundation & my recommendations

This is one of the most popular foundations for bridal makeup. Well known for looking really good in camera, and it doesn't have any SPF or fragrance. That means, no white cast and minimal reaction with sensitive skin. Now these are facts - I've used them on myself and clients. So whatever I say later is not going to argue these points.

I love that foundation. Beautiful foundation with a little bit of satin finish. It spreads really easily, and almost doesn't look cakey if you applied it in the right way. However, I've never really do a close up photo/comparison with other products.

So.. Here I am. Lets see what this foundation does - exactly.

L: Missha Signature BB cream - Shade 2, which is one of my favorite BB creams. But it contains SPF 45 which is horrible when it comes to flash photography.
R: Makeup Forever Foundation - N120
I took this photo around 6 hours after application btw.

Initial reaction: They both have very similar finishes initially. They both could be sheered out or build to a full coverage. I used a really light hand so it's about light - mid coverage.
After 1 hour: Makeup forever foundation is still going pretty well, but the missha side gets a little bit oily. Just a little shine. Nothing much.
--- My boyfriend. Stared at my face for about 10 minutes and his only conclusion is one side is more oily. So.. It is not that obvious a difference actually.
After 6 hours: There is really not much difference apart from that the Missha side oxidized a little more. They both showed some shine. Well. as you could see in the photo, appearance of pores are around the same. So the way they settle are pretty similar.
* Note that I do not touch up on foundations when I do tests like this.

Conclusion:
Note that both foundations I used are some of my favorites. They are of good quality. But here's the trick...

If you need a foundation for photography, or you're a makeup artist, spend your $75 on Makeup forever HD foundation. It sets your mind at ease on the flash back part, and it makes your makeup kit looks more high class. However, if you do not need to be photographed under flash, a lot of other foundations will do a good job. Missha Signature BB cream is fantastic when it comes to having a satin finish. But it is a little pricey ($45) as well.

Recommendations:
So if you're looking for a cheap foundation that still gives off that little bit of glow, but with minimum SPF, I'd recommend L'Oreal Lumi foundation / Bourjois Healthy mix serum foundation (Lighter feeling on skin).

OOTD + Review: Diorskin Forever Flawless Perfection Wear Foundation

I have a little review here today!

Actually I'm on a hunt for a new foundation for my brides, and I decided to try on Diorskin Forever Flawless today.
Cost: 47usd / 75sgd

Basic information: Mid - Full coverage with an SPF of 20 (That means you probably would get a little bit of flash! x.x ).

Nice packaging and stuff but it doesn't really matter. Next, you're going to see my face... Half no makeup.

One side of my face has the foundation + their radiant base on. Can you see which is the side that has the foundation? I took this photo only 10 minutes after applying foundation - so the fact that it is not obvious shows that this foundation may not be doing anything to my skin at all. Even my dark eye circles look as bad for both eyes.

Second chance... Make a guess on which side has foundation. Well its the left (The side w mole).
Notice that the SA chose a sade  too light for me. Apart from giving me a shade too light, she adds a pink tone radiant base all over my face - TERRIBLE MISTAKE girls. If you have yellow tone skin, adding pink undertone base will brighten up your skin. But that would not look natural. I'd only use a pink base to highlight areas of the face. Some bases contain micro shimmer pigments - and the worst you could do is to smear it all over the face, unless you have a really really dry and dull and yellow skin, with a pinkish undertone on your neck and chest area.

Overall, I'm not impressed with this foundation. Let me just give a quick run through of my first impression:

First hour: Cakey. The fondation settled into my pores. It is very obvious there is something in my pores when I look into the mirror. Also, this foundation makes the fine lines around my undereye even more obvious. This foundation does not dry to a powder like texture. So you have to set it if you want it to feel matte.

Third hour: Foundation is still accentuating my pores and lines - less obvious though, because the natural oils on my skin kind of blended the foundation a bit I guess. (This point brings hope to the foundation, I can foresee this looking beautiful on ladies with oily skin. Do note that if you have oily skin, you probably want to set this with powder.) But areas around my nose where I have bigger pores - bad news. The foundation settled in e pores and made them... well you get it. my pores are happily showing faces.
AT this point in time, there is almost no shine on my face still - so definitely a good foundation for oily skin ladies with minimum pores.

Forth hour: Most areas on my skin looks pretty good in this foundation apart from my nose. Foundation still in the pores. Not much shine still. I took it off after 4 hours because it's kind of time to sleep.

Conclusion: This foundation does have a beautiful finish. You have to buff the foundation in well. But it wouldn't work well with anyone that has mid - large pores. It wouldn't work with ladies having dry skin either. Definitely not a foundation I'd purchase for now. I might give it another try with a different SA just to see how the right shade would feel like on my skin.

Right! OOTD now! :D

Tank top w white pencil skirt
And... Tatsing slippers! LOL isn't my fashion sense fantastic???

Just kidding.
I was just trying on that skirt. Haha. I really love that skirt. But they do not have my size in S. I thought XS might work, but its damn tight I can't even pull it pass my big ass. I then try M, but it is way too loose around my waist area. I could put both my hands into the skirt. I'd love to buy it if it is of the right size though.

This is what I wore. I wanted to go kopitiam for dinner with my boyfriend, but we ended up in some shopping mall. I didn't wear any makeup. I didn't even wear my specs! So I couldn't see anything damn.

By right I quarreled w my boyfriend yesterday - BUT HE FORGOT WHAT WE QUARREL ABOUT ALDY!!! wth I feel dumb now - why bother arguing when he can't remember anything! Is this what you get with a physics guy?

Just 40 simple steps to looking picture perfect every day

So I received some questions on how to look good everyday. Here are the 40 simple steps to look picture perfect!

1. Wash face - removes any dirt
2. Scrub face - reduces uneveness of skin texture
3. Toner - prep skin for next products
4. Serum - adsorbs quickly into skin
5. Moisturizer - Added moisture
6. Sunblock - reduce sun damage. Yes, picture perfect means no sunscreen, but you could always use chemical sunscreen pdts (Choose a sunscreen with NO titanium dioxide. I have a post on sunscreens somewhere.....)
7. Primer – Provides a smooth canvas for your foundation
8. Foundation – You could choose either just 1 foundation color, or 3 foundation color. But let us just stick to 1 foundation for this guide. I'll talk about 3 foundation colors in the later posts.
9. Set foundation with a powder if you are preparing to use all powder products after this. Otherwise, jump right into the other steps. For this post, I do not want to use powder products immediately. So let us blot the excess foundations off using a piece of clean tissue.
10. Apply a cream bronzer or a darker shade of foundation on places you'd like to contour. Blend
11. Apply a cream highlighter or a lighter shade of foundation on places you'd like to highlight. In this case, I'd use a lighter shade of foundation because it act as concaeler too. Blend
12. Apply a cream blush on the apples of your cheeks or on the high points of your cheeks. Blend
13. Make sure that everything looks good now. Blot with tissue again.
* Now you might be annoyed. What's with all the blotting with tissue wtf. Blotting ensures that you take off all the excess products, so even though you used so many products, people would still think you had a naked skin
14. Powder the entire face using a loose powder or any powder you want to use.
15. Leave the powder on face a a couple of minutes and dust off the excess powders & blot again
16. Now use a powder bronzer to go over your contour
17. Use a highlighting powder to go over your highlighted areas
18. Use a powder blush over your cream blush. Step 16 – 18 ensures that your colors last longer.
19. Let us move on to eyes now. Apply primer – which. If you want to start with eye makeup first, it is alright too. In occasions where you want to do eye makeup first, move step 19 - 30 to the top.
20. Apply eyeshadow – Whichever color or colors you like.
21. Blend all different shades of colors together the way you want
22. Apply pencil eyeliner
23. Apply gel / liquid liner on top to make the line smooth
24. Set liner with black/ any color of eyeshadow you like
25. Curl your lashes
26. Apply mascara primer
27. Apply mascara
28. Apply false lashes – Single / full set lashes, whichever you like
29. Curl lashes again to blend in false ones w the real ones
30. Apply mascara again to further blend the lashes
31. Apply lip balm – this step should be done earlier bt I forgot to write in so here it is
32. Apply lip liner
33. Apply lipstick
34. Apply lipgloss
35. Check. You may apply a lighter gloss in the centre of lips to show fuller lips
36. Check overall makeup – have you missed out anything? Contour and highlight the nose area!
37. Check again – Right I missed out the eyebrows. Which by right, at this stage you got to apply a dry product – powder. But I'm going to just clean up the brow area and go in with a eyebrow gel.
38. Apply a light shade of eyebrow powder on top of eyebrow gel after it is dried
39. Apply darker shade of eyebrow powder to the ends of eyebrow to give a more natural look
40. Check to see if you look perfect now – touch up little details.
ONLY 40 SIMPLE STEPS AND YOU ARE READY TO GO! YESHHHHHHHHH

no wait. Missed out on the HAIR.

DANG. Now you know why Kim Kardashian spends 2 - 3 hours on makeup before her photoshoots! I might have missed a few points here and there, but its about there.
- But actually... Taiwanese spend more time than Kim. At least that's what I heard.
- and obviously I don't spam all the steps daily on myself. lol too much!

Bridal makeup on YOUTUBE

I believe that a lot of us look around youtube for makeup looks - and my brides tells me that too.

Well videos do show pretty nice makeup looks for brides. Let us be honest here. A lot of the gurus had never done any makeup on brides before. I have no problems with that because I started off not knowing how to put on proper makeup for brides too. However, issues starts when some of my clients asked me why couldn't I finish their bridal face makeup in 20 minutes, while youtubers could do it within 10 minutes.

1. Videos are being cut short. I have done tutorials on youtube a few years back. For a 6-8 minute video, I could actually be spending 60 minutes on the actual makeup.

2. They cut out a lot more steps for bridal makeup. Either that they did not know of some steps, they just didn't feel like doing them, or they don't want to share it. Whatever it is, cutting steps out could still achieve the same look on camera for a while. But that may not make your makeup last. Cutting steps may not enhance certain areas on the face, and the truth is that most of us don't have that kind of smooth skin you see on youtube. Or contours some pretty girls have on there. JEALOUS!

Look around youtube for bridal makeup inspirations. But don't just follow the steps - it doesn't work that way for everyone.

I'll stop at those 2 reasons and continue on the 20 minutes thing...

Yes it is possible to finish a face makeup in 20 minutes. But like I said in the previous post, wedding is once in a life time. Do try to put a little more time into it.

The average time a makeup artist spends on a bride's makeup & hair is around 1.5 hours. That is the average time Singapore makeup artist spend, and also the average time a bride is willing to spend on it. (Especially Chinese weddings... Chinese brides sometimes have to wake up at 4am due to their tradition! I ever start packing at 2am because of that... No sleep at all x.x )

The truth is.. A celebrity makeup artist could easily spend 3 - 4 hours on a makeup look, and that is normal for them. There is a difference between 30 minutes and a 3 hr makeup. Huge difference.

Now if brides got to get ready before 6am, it is obviously not possible for 3-4 hrs makeup! So what I do is I spend an average of 2 - 4 hours on my brides during their trial. Fellow makeup artists who come across this might think I am crazy and spoiling market whatever. But it is important to invest time for a long trial. A trial is not just about doing 1 makeup look. It is about learning the your contours and being able to shorten the makeup time on actual day. A trial also helps both parties to know about each other's style. Sometimes I get inspired to try new application methods so why not. Trial is good. Most importantly, it is only during trial that you could request for 2 - 3 different looks. (Some makeup artist might charge you more for more looks but it is worth it. Since trial are usually a lot cheaper than actual day makeup.)

ok think I got my point across.
And I do enjoy watching pixiwoo and lisaeldridge especially when it comes to serious makeup. They're good.

False lashes for brides

I want to talk about false lashes today. You cld go on and on about how much difference eyeshadows or eyeliners could do to the shape of your eyes. But with a set of false lashes, it can really OPEN up your eyes and make you look 'different'.

Makeup lovers who wear lashes daily might not feel how uncomfortable lashes actually are. However, more than 80% of my brides absolutely HATE them.

1. Some brides get emotional. They cry, they rub their eyes - thats it. the whole strip of lash is going to come off. Either that or only half set come off, leaving it hanging in the air, like that of the right eye.

2. The whole strip of false lashes may not feel comfortable. A lot of my brides complain that lashes kind of blocked their view, or it feels heavy (No matter how light a pair of lashes I use).

3. Doesnt look natural. Well it may look natural to you, but when brides stare at their faces close up in the mirror, they see where the lashes begin and end - annoying.

4. They just hate it. I hate it too. Who likes it when a piece of 'thing' is on your eyelid.

I'd say 99% of the makeup artist out there uses full strip lashes. The reason being, full strip lashes are easy to apply. They save time and money. I've been doing makeup for around 7 years for now, and I use full set lashes most of the time.

But recently, I have stopped using the full strip type of lashes for all my brides once and for all. There are other occasions that you want things quick - not a once in a life time event.

If you look at the photo on top, my left eye lashes looked really full don't they. They're of course not my original lashes. I've been using single lashes. They are time consuming ladies. But you can not imagine how comfortable they feel. Almost all my brides I tried on single lashes feedback that they do not feel anything on their eyes. And even when they eventually rub their eyes and 1 or 2 single lashes fall out, the overall look would still be around the same. I can not be more pleased with their feedback, and I really hope that more bridal makeup artists would try single lashes. It takes a lot of practice, and a lot of time, but it would make your bride's day so much better! :D

With & without lashes. I wasn't trying to open my left eyes more. It just look so much more lifted - and mind you, I did not curl my original lashes. Don't they look blended?

The application of the individual lashes is important. You got to choose the right length for each part of the eyes to get that - this is my real lashes feel.

For the above photo, I stacked a couple single lashes to give a more dramatic feel. I also added some longer ones to the centre of my eyes to make my eyes look more 'open' and rounder. But even so, when done correctly, you will not be able to see where the 'line' begin or end. My boyfriend couldn't even tell I was wearing false lashes - Men usually say things like WHOA UR EYES DAM SCARY.

There are techniques to make your eyes look 'longer' too. It is all about choosing the right length and placing at the right spot.

That happens even when you close your eyes. When individual lashes are correctly placed, they look like your real lash.

*DAM I did not put makeup on the above photos - apart frm my eyes - and my nose pores are happily jumping damnit!

Left: individual lashes
Right: whole strip
You see the difference.....

And when being photographed, you wouldn't even notice something is 'wrong' up there. :)

It is natural, it feels comfortable.
So upcoming brides who aren't used to wearing lashes... You know what to request of your makeup artist! :D Make sure to request for a trial!

Hmmm some of my face brushes I washed tonight...... A lot more to go through tmr. And my eye brushes. The most sian part of being a makeup artist.

Happy Birthday

Yes about 3 days ago...

Well when you're younger you'd think that birthday is such a fun thing - maybe until 21st (That's when most people had their biggest party. I swear I didn't had one. I spent mine eating kweytiao with my boyfriend at kopitiam.) But as you age, birthday seem much less important. Especially that you're working and you know people around you are busy too.

Most of my closer friends are overseas this year. So it is pretty much a quiet year - not a whole load quieter actually.

I met my best friend for 10years on Sunday for a meal. She treated me to quite a lot of food - honestly I am a little guilty that I broke her budget. She kept apologizing for not buying me gifts though. Till I realise the reason was that her grandfather passed away just a couple weeks before my birthday. Mine passed away when I was in Secondary 4. Man it is sad. I felt so sorry for her - so thankful at the same time for still remembering me even though we only meet twice a year.

Moving on. My boyfriend came out with a surprise for me the first time in our manymanymany years of relationship! CUPCAKES
These are by Dream Patisserie.
Their facebook page: http://www.facebook.com/pages/Dream-P%C3%A2tisserie/493701310693421
I am so impressed. The one who baked these cakes and does these wonderful designs is none other but a young lady around 19 (I guessed her age). But for someone so young to have such creativity and balls to start her own business, we got to give her some credit. Her cakes taste good too.

My dinner with my boyfriend. He insist on eating something expensive this yr - definitely not kopitiam again. But I didn't want to waste the cash - if something normal fills me up like expensive food do, why go for the most expensive one.

Since he insist, I just walked in to the first non-kopitiam place. Some jap food thing, I don't even remember the name of that place now. :X

Dinner with daddy and boyfriend. Well. Ofcourse this is not the only thing we had. I forgot to take picture of all the food till the end. :X So... ya.
We ate it at Ding Tai Fong though.

Truffles - This little thing cost $4 each!!! DAMN! If you are a mushroom fan, try it maybe. Otherwise NO! My dad insist on asking for the most expensive thing inside so yeh there it goes. We had many other Paus but this is the only one I remember to photograph - due to its price..........

Cupcake for breakfast again. Lol. along with coffee and microwaved egg. :X

A dose of my boyfriend........
Me: Dear get me a cup of iced tea.
Him: But the ice is stuck to the pastic thing and I don't have enough tea.
Me: Get it out and pour all the tea then.
..... That's what he gave me. A huge piece of ice, WHERE EVER IS THE TEA?!

chicken wings. yum

I am bad at blogging. Well I could blame it on my work schedule, my multi interest (I tried sewing a pair of shorts for my boyfriend on his birthday a few days back!!! It turned out pretty fine, UNTIL it split right at his BALLS (Yes... that part.) according to him. But it is not my fault, my sewing machine doesn't even want to work properly. and I dont know how to use it either. No one in my house knows how to use it too :X ), my destroyed camera (I dismantle (Yes I took out all the parts one by one.) my entire camera to fix the cracked screen. It's fairly easy to do it! You just have to be careful otherwise you might pull some parts into 2 and there goes your $1000 DSLR. But it still didn't work because I forgot to buy the external screen. DAM. ), the idiot who stole my phone (btw I just got a new smart phone! YAY).

So honestly, what do I have to push the blame --- WORK.

Ok next.

I'm trying to pick up sewing nowadays. However. My sewing machine doesn't corporate with me at all. It doesn't even sew smoothly for more than 10 seconds! Thread breaks/get stuck/ needle drops. I can't even sew a broken pocket, or alter length of my pants.

I highly go against Brother BM2600 if you are a sewing noob like me. It does nothing to enhance your interest. It just keep breaking down till you are pissed off. If you were a pro, I don't think you need my disapproval. It is at your own risk.

It is times like this I wish I had 30 friends who wants to share a birthday present for me. :D $10 each and I'd get $300 to get myself a better sewing machine. Sadly, no I don't. D: What's worse: all my friends happens to be overseas this year!! Apart from a friend whom I've known for about 10 years!!! I'm meeting her for lunch this Sunday. YAY cheers me up so much. Obviously I got to be happy. We only meet twice a years - my birthday and her birthday. fuck-is-this-how-u-treat-your-best-friend?

Too many accidents

It is alright to sleep on the MRT. 100% fine. It just isn't all that fine when a man asleep KEPT 'accidentally' tilt his head and lie on your shoulder. It is not fine when a man asleep KEPT dropping his itchy hand from his bag and then 'ACCIDENTALLY' touches your butt - AGAIN.and AGAIN like it is for FREE. The worse thing that could happen at this point of time is that you can't get up also since the train is so freaking packed.

Thankfully the uncle sitting beside me noticed this pervert. He shifted one seat for me. Once I moved, another girl sat down. And there goes the sleepy man's 'accidents' again.

ok done.

I'd rather have sex with a prostitute

You'd be surprised, but that was what a very decent guy friend of mine said.

A friend of mine dropped by yesterday (Not to talk about sex obviously). He wanted me to wake him up as he liked this girl for more than a year, just to find out that she already has a boyfriend 3 days back. Ever since, he hasn't been eating. Nor is he doing his work properly. And if you happen to be a sad boy like him, my one and only advice is to just.. give up la, nth happened bet u 2, and nth happened now still. So no one loses anything. Moreover, this girl isn't even in Singapore now..... That's exactly what I said... Am I bad at this or what........

K back to the title. He then told me his poor lady friend got disturbed by some perverts to go sun tan in bikini.
Him: How could you meet a friend just to leech her like that?
Me: But isn't it normal that a lot of guys think that way?
Him: If I had a girlfriend, and I had the urge to have sex, I'd rather find a prostitute.
Me: Fuck. Why? Isn't that insulting to your girlfriend? She'd think you prefer prostitute to her.
Him: But I refuse to disrespect her. And I don't want to make use of her for my own desire.
Me: Isn't that weird? What if your girlfriend prefer you to have sex with her than a prostitute??
Him: NO. There is no way I will disrespect her.
Me: K what if she wants it. She is horny and she wants it.
Him: Then no choice.....

I kept thinking this friend is too extreme already and honestly this is my first time hearing this kinda thing, But men like that exists. This friend wouldn't even talk to me about the type of girls he like when we first know each other around 4 years back because to him, that is being disrespectful towards me.

I told my boyfriend about this that evening and though my boyfriend's thinking isn't like that at all, he told me this, 'I respect him for the response. Maybe the girlfriend would be offended and felt cheated, his intentions were good.'
He then added, 'But I'll still prefer to have sex with girlfriend instead of prostitute.'

Now what do you think.

Xoxo.

Phone-less

MRT rides are usually time for me to make the most out of my phone. Emails . Music . Web surfing.
Goodbye to all the above since I lost my phone. I've been using the most lao-cok-cok phone on earth. A phone that even my 76year old uncle doesn't want anymore D:

Reminds me exactly how life was back in secondary school. The only difference is that I couldn't get use to typing via the numbers anymore. The other day I replied a sms and it took me 5 minutes. By the end of it, my fingers hurt. DAMN.

I think I am getting use to life without a smartphone now. Been spending a lot more time looking around the train and eavesdropping whatever others have to say about life.

ok ran out of things to say.

and. I've been stealing my bf's phone almost everyday now -- hehe.

GONE

I'm not just referring to myself being missing for such a long time.

I'm referring. to. my iphone. D: Some thief has stolen my iphone last week. From my work place! Ok great. Now my entire year of photos and sms-es... games........ are gone. D: Oh and contacts. Which currently, I only have like 5/6 contacts.

The way this theft worked out is just magic - plain magic(TRAGIC)
I left my phone in my drawer, and I walked out for merely 30seconds. The thief opens my drawer, unplugged my phone from my charger and escaped. I didn't remember how this guy/girl looks like. Called my phone, and this idiot thief actually bothers to pick up the phone! He/she didn't speak of course. Otherwise I'd know if it's a guy or girl. But I did hear the Ez-link card tapping sound. This guy must have went on the bus.

I called the police later and had my report done. Of course, I have no more than 1% chance of getting my phone back even after the phone report.

Folks. This incident taught me some things - and I'll pass it down to anyone with a smart phone.
1. Find my iphone isn't good enough. It doesn't update fast enough. So you better download a stronger software - like the one that takes a photo of the thief once he key in wrong passcode 3x.
2. Set a passcode. so the thief's photo could be taken. Even if he throws your phone, he will certainly be embarrassed. Or found.
3. Do not send your phone message saying your phone has been tracked - the thief will just take out your sim card and use it w/o 3G
4. Report your IMEI number, stated on your phone box when you buy your phone. In that way, anyone who gets your phone will be automatically deem as committing a crime. This will not help much but it is a way to freak the thief out. for a while. yeh.

My IMEI is: 013031006460869.... So if you happened to buy a Iphone4s from stranger, please check it. Fastest way is to call: *#06#  and IMEI number will appear. Report to police immediately if you happened to be holding on to a stolen phone. And save yourself the trouble of committing some stupid crime.

And....
just a fun convo with the police officer the other day:
Him: Are you sure Find my iphone works? How accurate it is?
Me: Quite accurate, usually its a couple meters difference from actual location.
Him: Why you so sure.... U TRACK YOUR BOYFRIEND ALL THE TIME RIGHT!!!!
Me: Haha... Yes.

Beauty Trends - 2013 (Makeup & Hair)

I try to update a little on beauty trends each year. But I'd repeat this... beauty trends yearly are kind of a bullshit -- since things like glowing skin, full brows, effortless beauty etc have been in the list for many years. Each season, without fail.

Nevertheless, there are always some new things cosmetic companies try to come out with yearly. We all appreciate these don't we. What's our new shopping spree if there isn't anything new in 'trend'?

#1: flawless skin - Alexander Mcqueen takes on less is more this year. Pale, clear complexion is could never go wrong.

L - R: Alexander Mcqueen, Jason Wu, Jason wu, Marc Jocobs

#2: Full brows: Now full brows has been in trend for quite a while now. I could see it being strong still. However if there was going to be something different this year, I'd say Edie Sedwick is an icon that you could safely follow. Thick brows, strong eyes, pixie hair.
Note: Again, pretty pale, clear skin.

L - R: Chanel, Gucci

#3: Strong eyes. From Chanel, Dior's metallic bold eyes to Gucci's full lashes, the emphasis is on the eyes ladies. This however is not going to be a easy look on daily wear. I'd say, a clubber's favorite trend this year - perhaps. I could imagine these looks shine on photos in the evening.

#4: Red lips. If red lips hasn't been in fashion enough, I say, matte red lips. Burberry has her take on one of the most undying trends in history. Matte red lips could never be more classy. Anyone could wear this look - just not easy to keep up perhaps. Exfoliating your lips, get the liner, reapplication of color throughout your meal. Oh, and spending time choosing the right 'red'. Not something for lazy ladies.

L - R: Peter Som, Tibi

#5: Pastels. I'd say this is one of the newer things I've seen in trend these few years. Pastels has not only been popular on runway eyes. They've made it to the hair color too.

Hair #1: Pastel hair for Peter Som.  A pop of color in general I'd say. Even red hair! :)

Hair #2: Textures. Well textured hair is almost everywhere this year. Marc Jacobs is not the only one. If you look at the following hairstyles, they've got something to do with it.
Note: Full brows, pale flawless skin again.

L - R: Jason Wu, Honor

Hair #3: Braids. Yes, braids itself is a kind of texture which falls straight into #2. I'd say classic braids is a way to go this year. However I wouldn't be surprised if fishtail or even rope braids become big too. They all are interesting textures and they hold your hair in place.

My favorite trends of the year?
Definitely the part on Edie Sedwick. Of course I would never suggest going on eyebrows that FULL. However, having eyebrows slightly thicker reveals a younger age. It also makes you look more awake, and brings a balance to your entire face. I also am a fan of strong eyes this year. We've all been on a 'naked' train last year and I'd be pretty excited for this change.

As for hair, textures is really good for me. I'm lazy and I don't really comb my hair. No one shall say I'm lazy this year - I'm in trend. Braids is really fun too. I've been using braids to create natural heat free curls lately. Just braid your hair before sleeping, and you wake up with pretty curls. Hairspray it, and you're basically ready to go.

Cedele

This is my first time dining at Cedele - Millennial walk.

I was waiting for my boyfriend alone and I saw Cedele. They offer really nice cakes and buns, so I had to try them isn't it.

Had their pumpkin roll at just 80 cents. Followed by Mos Burger as dinner with my bf - He planned to bring me to some place to eat, only to realise it's been closed for renovation. Damn.

I craved for coffee so we went back to Cedele. Thats when I took some photos!

The roses behind - THEY ARE REAL. That scored a major point.

I was never a fan of roses. But I got to say I'm a half convert now. I love the scent of roses and I love the look of them. Not to mention that rose essential oils are extremely good the skin. :D

Coffee.
- good coffee. I believe that I've got quite a good taste when it comes to choice of coffee.. So trust me, if I said it's good, it has to be pretty fine at least.

Scone
I'm not a major fan of this. Find it a little dry. I'd recommend their brownies more actually.

Set for just $5.

It's been a long time since I dated this happily. Well could it be that I'm just easily satisfied now? (:

I'd recommend Cedele whole heatedly.

Why is Michelle Phan Famous

I'm always on youtube - now the fact that I don't have a television could show how much youtube meant to me.

Michelle Phan was one of the first person I watched there - 5 years back. She's so inspiring. To me, she is really pretty! I adore her.

5 years have past and Michelle Phan - who was once just like any of us made herself a millionare - through youtube! Why, of all the girls on youtube, Michelle made it to the top.

Well the answer is simple - Michelle put in much more effort. She gets things done as professionally as possible. Therefore, she gets the credit more than any other girl. Now don't get me wrong, I really love listening to ladies ramble about their dogs, cats, new stuff they bought. However there is just something about Michelle's videos that'd make me 'miss' it - from the way she edits the video to the choice of music she made. She's got a good taste.

Some of us still adore her now, while others hate her. Now I know I wrote a post on whether she did some plastic to her chin. However like I said, that's really a personal choice. Perhaps I'd be upset if it's true, but right now I still do enjoy watching her a lot. I can't help but have so much respect for her whenever I see a new video pop up - it is not easy to keep filming, editing, uploading. Well, for 5 years.

Her style has changed a bit here and there - I noticed her not being as innovative. Something lacking from the past. Nonetheless, what she's achieved is crazy! Not to mention how much girl's lifes she changed by just doing what she enjoys.

I am really happy for where she is now, and I totally understand why some people hate her. But hey! There is no need to, because if she is not worth the position, she wouldn't be there. She is a living fact that anyone could make it there - through hardwork and just being who you really are.
