Bridal Makeup & Photography - Kellysbridals

Alright, I mentioned that I did a bridal shoot some time back! Just got the photos recently, and I am to share them! :)

This is the first hairstyle I did for Vanessa. Since she's got quite a oval face shape, I chose not to add too much volume on the crown of her head. Instead, I pulled her hair quite low around the sides to cover her ears. This makes her face appear a little rounder. Since we're doing the entire  makeup and shoot outdoors, I had her hair bunned up and braided. Did a little back combing all around and compressed them. So when I let her hair down later, there would be a little bit of curl, texture and volume to it.

Note: This is her 3rd hour let down hair. A little tip here: The volume would not be there if there wasn't any form of back combing before bunning up the hair! :)

Here's a close up to the makeup I did for Vanessa. She's got her own Urban Decay Naked 1 palette, but she told me that she only uses SIN and DARK HORSE. So I decided to use my Naked1 palette on her! And teach her how to utilize that great palette! :
She is around NC 25 - 30 for your reference, and I used the following shades on her:
1. Sidecar all over the lid and on the front part of her lower lash line
- This color would have been enough for everyday look. However, I added in 2,3 and 4 just for the dimension of Vanessa's eyes since there is going to be photography done on her! :)
2. Hustle at the outer corner and on her lower lash line
3. Virgin at the inner corner
4. Creep on top of Hustle, but just a little bit to darken.

As you could see in the photo, I left Vanessa's double eyelid quite visible. And the reason to that is that she's got really beautiful eyes. When I met Vanessa for the first time, she's got really thick eyeliner. And she told me she'd draw thicker eyeliner out to accentuate her eyes. So I went on with a almost no eyeliner look for her. I feel that her eyes looked really big and filled with energy! :)

Gorgeous gown. This gown has got really pretty lace details on the train.
By the way, that's when I let down her hair! :) Pretty beach waves. And the trick? Braid your hair before you sleep! :)

Vanessa wants to try a moving shot. So she suggested running! :)

My photographer suggested this pose! Mysterious quality to it. :)

An evening dress to tie the shoot together. :)

I hope you guys did enjoy the photos! :D

Ang Siang Hill

Hello everyone! So I went out with one of my best friends - caibei yesterday! Did pretty thick makeup w lashes and contacts - so not me now - because I know she's going to take pictures of me! :D :D

Yeh to Ang siang hill. What a weird place to go right!! well, turns out that this is a really nice place! At least we enjoyed it a lot - food and photos.

A very short stretch of road here..

And Caibei did some photoshoots for me! Of course~ She has a Nikon D700, gt to utilize right! And obviously her charger didn't spoil like mine. DAM! I forgot to buy a charger!!!

Pretty~ Ok this is totally self obsession. I'm talking about the photo! Hahaha!

But anyway, I went BRIGHT with my OOTD! As well as the makeup. I''m actually a very boring person nowadays. I'd just wear neutrals, black and white, bodycon dress - call it a day. I won't even wear necklace, put lashes, put contacts, wear earrings. Given a choice I just want to go out in my pajamas, specs - so I won't be a blind ghost - and slipper. But got to look pretty right! Yes :D

I've been wearing my hair in a side pony pretty often these days. :) There IS a special reason for it! Girls with long hair would normally just tie a back pony when we're hot right. So that was what I always do. Till my bf says, 'I hate girls with back pony! The tail just swing left and right and left again dam I got headache. Feel like cutting it off......'
Yeh so I better tie it side ways so he don't get tempted to cut it away. :D

Went to a really really cute cafe later! Kki cafe. They've got the best tasting cakes -and ex- and shop design ever!

Counter

This is how the shop looks like beside our table! HUGE DIFF right!

And this is infront of our table. Hahaha soooo cuteeee! I want to get everything here home!!!

THE CAKE!!!! this is super tiny - like seriously. But it taste so good! Caibei looked sooo high and happy when this lil cake reaches us! :D

Greedy... Ready to eat the cake~~~ Btw yes I took the photo. Omg caibei almost killed me when I was trying to take her photos because I just know nothing about it! Its not my fault alright~ The only thing I use my DSLR for is to take photo of my face! Hahaha and my boyfriend is the one taking all other shots of me or scenery etc.

Ready to kiss the cakessssss. Ok another complain - her DSLR is so.heavy. around 2kg! Respect for photographers! My makeup and hair kit weights around 5kg too, but at least I don't have to keep 2kg in my hands all the time! Hahaha

Ok I look like I'm swallowing saliva.

Touching up!

What I'm wearing..
Top: f21
Bottom: Mango - LOVE IT.
Bag: idk where I got it from.

See my left eyes.. (Right side in the photo)
I kept rubbing it because some dirt went in. Luckily my false lashes didn't drop out fully. Tsk.
Only realise that I cut my eyes when I got home. Hurts like a bitch. Almost make a second trip to TTSH! I'm also suspecting its the color contact lens. But i got it from specs store so shouldn't be much of a problem? Hmm..

Ending the post w my caibei and I! :)

Bridal photoshoot - Joanne&Huizi

Hello everyone, so this post is pretty exciting! Well much better than just showing my bunnies if you're not a fan of them. :D

Done some bridal shoot makeups for my beautiful models, Joanne&Huizi on Sunday. My photographer sent me some sample photos, and I'm posting them here! :D Of course, more to come when I get everything from him.

This is Joanne's first look. A pretty fierce one. I wanted to do something darker than that but I figured that Joanne is a really young and sweet girl so this intensity should be enough. To my surprise though, Joanne carries off this FIERCE look really really well! I did a mistake in this look though. I used OCC liptar on her, which is supposed to be long wearing and stuff. However she got pretty dry lips due to the weather so the liptar didn't work out as well. Nevertheless, Joanne did such a great job considering this is her first photoshoot!

Joanne's second look/outfit. I went with a much sweeter look because her first look is pretty dull. The photographer still choose to take photo of her sensual side though. They feel that Joanne's got the 'attitude' :D Her second makeup is extremely beautiful. I added silver reflex glitters and used Estee lauder's purple palette. Though I suspect my photographer didn't take photo of just the makeup......

Huizi here next! A cheerful, girl next door! Huizi's got AMAZING skin! I got so jealous while doing her makeup.

Anyway, first look I did was pretty natural, even though it doesn't look the most natural in real life~ It looks really great on photos! :D Huizi was worried that she can't carry off certain looks because she prefers smiling. But well, the photos here looks great! Don't they. :D
HuiZi got a personal blog! http://oyhz.blogspot.com/ Visit hers if you love her. XOXO

Second look.. I did a little experiment here. Drew a flower on one side of her face. Could have done much better with the right tools though! I didnt bring my mixing medium then. However I'm pretty determined to dry this look out. Maybe I'd paint it on my own face one day and show you guys! :D

My good friend, Caibei came to join me half way through the shoot! And that was when I'm painting Huizi's face. I was shit... Caibei's gonna laugh at me because she is a art student~~~ LOL.

Anyway the shoot turned out pretty good apart from me not being able to really follow them around and touch up their makeup&hair since I was doing different looks etc. Otherwise could be even better. :D I did get my boyfriend to follow her and the photographer along though!

Special credits to my models of course! And my photographer - Javier!

XOXO

Chinese New Year

Happy Chinese New Year everyone! :)

CNY this year is a little different for me. Mainly because I don't have my family around me. So I had my reunion dinner at my boyfriend's house; first day in uncle's house and second day in my boyfriend's house again. Since I'm not going out with my parents like the rest of my years, I had no inspirations to do makeup at all. :( Honestly, I just woke up, clean up, applied moisturizer, and go. Normally I'd draw my brows.

BUT! I did drag myself to put on makeup today! On the second day. :) Because I had to meet my bf's relatives... his cousins, nephews, niece.......... grand niece. Had to give a good impression right!

Yeh me. I couldn't upload my face photo somehow. Maybe the internet doesn't want it up D: BOO. But yeh I did not get ANY cny clothes this year so i sorta wore what I bought long time ago..... phew luckily i could still wear it. HAHA!

Now on the first day.....
Now this car park used to be super full.
Empty street.
Empty.
and I feel empty too. :( Walking on the empty street.

OK! time for something pretty. ok 3 things. no. 3 ladies!
Worked with these girls on their photoshoot last week! Its for their Valentines day collection. I can't show you guys all the dresses, BUT! most of us got sun burnt. Or at least 2 tones darker. :D So lots of effort okay! I love Bernice's fish tail braid. I did it for her! :D

Still super busy lately, I promise I'll update more, do more looks, dadidah.. etc. soon. :D How does 2012 makeup trend + looks post tmr or the day after tmr sounds? :D :D good eh?

Photoshoot - Photos out!

Hello everyone, I'm sharing some 'faces' of the photo shoot last week! :D Remember? This is the shoot done with the 3 lovely girls! And, I just got the photos from the photographer. :)

Inspiration? HOLIDAYS! :D :D :D

Debbie needs to attend a birthday party for a grandmom after the shoot, so I was nice to her, I gave her a pretty wearable look. Well, more of a bridal type of makeup actually!

Added gold glitters to the inner half of her eyes and also, a rine stone at the inner corner of her eyes. :) Such a lucky girl!! Her boyfriend was with her, and he seriously can not keep his eyes off her! :P

Grace was my first face to do that day. And she was super scared when I'm done with her makeup. Reason - I blended a very blight gold color and a dark navy blue on her eyes. Which are 2 really extreme colors! Not only are they directly opposite in the color wheel, one is bright and one is really dark! PLUS! I added a purple color to her lips, together with purple blush. So she probably thinks she'd scare everyone.

Well all I could say is that a makeup look takes you time to get use to it. Because you look at your bare face/ the normal way you apply your makeup. So when you see someone new - you - , you panic and wonder who this is, and how unlike you, you are. So you need some time to get use to the new look.

But for everyone else who sees you the first time, they don't see the changes. All they see is how gorgeous, eye catching you are. :) That is also why sometimes you may not agree with your makeup artist but others really love your new look!

Bernice. I really love the way she look here. Very sensual. I went for a deep dark purple look, with some dark purple flecks on her eye lid. And some gold shadow in the inner corner of her lower lash line. Went for a pretty 'unblended' look, which looks really different from a typical smokey/dark eyes. :)

Signing off with this gorgeous looking photo! I really love the color combination of this photo!
- Slightly blue toned pink paired with yellow toned background. and earthy green shades. Stayed true to how I 'painted' Grace's face! :D
XOXO

Photoshoot - With the girls! (Bernice's makeup) + A little of my makeup bag!

Hello, today I'm going to be showing you behind the scene for Bernice's makeup! :)

I have no idea what I was doing there. Probably foundation with my MAC foundation brush?

Haha sorry for the jump, but this is the almost finished look for Bernice. It is a navy blue - dark purple - glitter look. I'm putting my finger under her eyes to prevent fall outs by the glitters. And yes, the palette on the bottom right is sephora's eyeshadow palette.

Curling her lashes now, yupp RED lipstick! :D Bernice told me she hate red lipstick and she kept pleading me to tone it down after I applied it for her! But I think red looked sooo good on her! She looked so sexy. Seriously, once the photos are out, you'll know what I mean. Model face!!
Red could look good on everyone, so don't be afraid, just throw a red lipstick on!

Now, does my eyes look -.- beside Bernice's O.O eyes? OMG yes it doesssss. my eyes are -.- totall. Really tied that day! My eyelids are drooping! tsk.

AND Tedah! a little bit of my makeup bag!! :D

The colorful , filled with pinks palette is actually my blush palette. I threw a few eyeshadow to it because I'm too lazy to find another palette for the eyeshadows. Moreover, blushes are safer like this! They won't slide around like monkeys! :D then you see some foundations, eye cream, moisturizer, ampoule, HAND SANITIZER! Really impt to keep a hand sanitizer. If your makeup artist doesn't have it, please allow her to clean her hands first or just hope that she doesn't touch your face with her hand. Or something......

Stay tuned for Grace's makeup behind the scene; and the photos from photographers when they're out!
XOXO

Photoshoot - With the girls! (Debbie's makeup)

I went for a photoshoot with the previous blogshop again! :) This month, they're doing a shoot for the Chic Magazine, for their Christmas collection. High cost advertisement, so makeup and photography is definitely a important factor for them.
- Would you rather look at a online store with unprofessional, DIY self taken photo with no makeup OR professional photos with great makeup. ;)

Behind the scent for the first photo, and then Debbie's final eye makeup for the second photo.
These are taken by Grace's Canon camera and Debbie's personal camera respectively. I've yet to receive the ultra clear and fine photos from my photographer, Mark today. So stay tuned for updates!!

AND YES!!! We did everything in The Coffee Beans and Tea Leaves! :D Super random, we're such attention seekers. :P Just kidding. But it was such a fun thing to do over there! I'm sure everyone enjoyed it.

Been such a tiring week though, I've got so much clients getting married, D&D and such. (No photos of clients because well sometimes you don't want your photos all over the net right? :) So the best I could do is to upload pretty photos with my beautiful models; highly motivated blogshop owners) But a great week seeing pretty faces and nice smiles from everybody. I love all the girls! :D

Photoshoot - Model's Look

Hello, I'm showing case of the makeup I've done on my beautiful models last week! :)

As mentioned, I did their makeup in the dark, so I really wasn't able to see well. D: Luckily their looks don't sway too far away from what I pictured!! :D

This is Grace, a very cheery, pretty girl. She already had a full face makeup on already that day. However, when I see her, she did not have much contouring done on her face. Neither did she had much blusher and eyeshadow color on. Well that means she might appear washed out/'flat' on photos. Which is not what we want because they're shooting for a blogshop collection! :)

What I did was to really just add on the bronzer and a little bit of blusher. I also darkened her eyeshadow. Since Grace doesn't have much double eyelid space, I tried to add on definition through creating a 'fake' crease, which is what you could see on her in the photo above.

Products used:
Eyes: Wet&wild eyeshadow palette - Comfort zone + Urban decay naked palette - Sin
Face: Canmake bronzer; can't remember the blush, I just grabbed a random one that day! Sorry!!
Lips: Revlon soft nude

Debby is a extremely kind looking lady! And I she really is alright! :D She had half face makeup done when I met her. Revlon colorstay foundation and some eyeshadow on.

Now I want her to look slightly fiercer, so I tried to create a little more arch on her eyebrow. Didn't do a super obvious change on her this time though because I didn't have the proper tool then. All I had was a brown powder and a very light brow pencil. (I went to this shoot last minute! So I only had a few items with me to work with!)

Also, Debby has a very slim face which makes her look really kind especially that she also have slightly droopy eyes. (Now don't get me wrong, Debby is extremely beautiful with no makeup on too!) So instead of contouring to make her face even skinnier, what I did was to contour upwards, that is to say, we make her face appear shorter/rounder.

As for her eyes, what I did was to really just bring the liner upwards so she'd look more confident. I also blend the eyeshadow upwards so she have a rounder eye shape.

Products:
Eyes: Wet&wild palette- Comfort zone
Cheeks: Canmake bronzer, her own blush, ELF studio blush - Twinkle pink
Lips: OCC liptar - Femme topped with Revlon colorstay lipgloss - Hotpink

Bernice is the only one who appeared with totally no makeup on. She is gorgeous! However, her skin is really pale when I see her in the dark. So the first thing I did was to find a foundation that is much darker than her, with a slightly orange undertone. I apply that on her jawline, and blended upwards. Also applied it beside her brows to create shadow. But the most important thing here is that I'm giving her a slightly sunkissed look. I also contoured her nose with that darker shade.

Bernice looks so sweet! And I really want to keep it. What I did was to thicken her brows slightly, giving it a little more arch. As for her eyeshadow, I tried to elongate her eye shape because her eyes is pretty big already! :D

As for her lips, Bernice told me she was afraid of bright colors. So I gave her one of the brightest colors I could find in my kit that day. :P And I told her she looked great with bright colors!

Products:
Eyes: Wet&wild palette - Blue Had Me At Hello
Cheeks: I mixed different shades of foundation for contouring; topped with a little bit of ELF studio blush - twinkle pink
Lips: L'Oreal Color Riche lipcolor - Volcanic, Sally Hansen Laqouer Shine lipgloss - Ginger

Another shoot with them coming next week! I'm definitely spending quite some time thinking of face charts/ louder look for them. Stay tuned okay! :D
XOXO
